instructional design & technology

A portfolio of research and design

In 2022 I completed an M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to build on my background in writing (creative and business), teaching and  marketing/PR. I was the first cohort of students in 2020 and was awarded the only graduate assistantship and tuition waiver available at that time. In that capacity I provided support to fellow students, conducted research and promoted the new program.

This portfolio presents a sampling of projects and research I completed during my degree work plus other relevant projects, including a usability study of UNCG's beta site (since launched), another usability study for the Workforce and Continuing Education (WCE) Division of Guilford Technical Community College, and research and curriculum design based on e-learning best practices.

I am also an experienced and versatile writer. I am an author of four full-length works of fiction – two novels and two story collections (starting with a two-book deal with Simon & Schuster) – plus over 100 articles and essays under my byline, as well as dozens of blog articles, case studies, and white papers written on behalf of clients, and social media campaigns for companies of all sizes across industries.

I hope this site provides some useful perspective on the value I can offer, and I look forward to talking with you about the opportunity to work together.
